By India Today Entertainment Desk: Vaibhavi Upadhayaya's tragic death sent shock waves to the entire television industry. The entire country woke up to the news of her passing away on May 24 after it was revealed that the Sarabhai vs Sarabhai actress passed away due to a car accident. The incident took place after her car fell into a gorge and she suffered head injuries.

As Vaibhavi Upadhayaya’s friends are still trying to cope with her demise, SP Kullu shared another major development in the death case. SP Kullu Sakshi Verma shared that the actress succumbed to injuries after she tried to get out of the car’s window, which proved fatal for her. "Vaibhavi tried to get out of the vehicle through the window and sustained a head injury which proved fatal. She was rushed to Banjar Civil Hospital where the doctors declared her dead,” Verma told PTI.

"Upadhyaya died on Monday after her SUV fell into a gorge near Sidhwan in the Banjar area of Kullu. The accident occurred when the driver of the car was negotiating a steep curve, she added.

Fortunately, the fiance escaped with only minor injuries to his hands. But Vaibhavi was gone in a flash as she was not wearing a seat belt.

Vaibhavi Upadhyaya passed away in an accident on May 22. Her mortal remains were brought to Mumbai and she was cremated on May 24. A video of the funeral was shared by a paparazzo on Instagram where several people gathered to pay their last respects to the actress. Amid all the condolence messages, fans were shocked to know that Vaibhavi was all set to get married to Jay Suresh Gandhi in December 2023.
