What time is The Irishman released on Netflix and who is in the cast?
Martin Scorsese’s critically acclaimed new film The Irishman’s Netflix release date is today, so anyone waiting to spend the film’s 3.5-hour runtime in the comfort of their own home need not wait any longer.
From director Scorsese partnering with Netflix to make the film, to his making those comments about Marvel movies in the runup, to its release to its much-hyped de-ageing of the cast, there’s been buzz-a-plenty about The Irishman.
Metro.co.uk’s own review gave it 4.5 stars and said: ‘Unfolding across the screen like a painting, Scorsese’s most expensive film ever finds him in top form. This is much more than a rehash of Goodfellas or Casino, it’s an atmospheric, thoughtful recollection of a life spent in the shadows.’
If that sounds like your cup of tea, then stay put, because we’ve got what you need to know about when you can watch it for yourself.
The Irishman is available to stream on Netflix now, after having dropped at 8am this morning.
The movie was also released in cinemas on 8 November in the UK, and is still showing at a wide range of theatres.

After facing some criticism for it, Scorsese said this Netflix deal was a matter of necessity.
He said: ‘There’s no doubt that seeing a film with an audience is really important.
‘There is a problem though: we have to make the film.’
He added: ‘We’ve run out of room, in a sense: there was no room for us to make this picture, for many reasons. [But] having the backing of a company that says you will have no interference, you can make the picture as you want – the trade-off being: it streams, with theatrical distribution prior to that.
‘I figure, that’s a chance we take, on this particular project.’
