Will Smith reveals he 'fell in love' with actress Stockard Channing while married

Will Smith has revealed he 'fell in love' with actress Stockard Channing.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air made the confession in his new memoir Will, revealing that he was still married to his first wife, Sheree Zampino, when his feelings for his Six Degrees of Separation co-star began to develop. 

Remembering how he stayed in character, even off-set, while filming the movie, Will writes "Sheree and I were in the first few months of our marriage with a brand-new baby and for Sheree, I can imagine that this experience was unsettling to say the least."

He says "She'd married a guy named Will Smith and now she was living with a guy named Paul Poitier," his character's name in the movie. "And to make matters worse, during shooting I fell in love with Stockard Channing."

The actor remembers "After the film wrapped, Sheree and Trey and I moved back to L.A. Our marriage was off to a rocky start. I found myself desperately yearning to see and speak to Stockard."

Will split from Sheree Zampino in 1995 after three years of marriage.

He went on to marry wife Jada Pinkett Smith in 1997.
