They may be lyrics from Robbie Williams’ tracks but they hold an important message – drive safely and to the conditions if you’re heading to Hawke’s Bay this Mission Concert weekend.
Up to 50,000 people are expected to attend the two concerts this weekend at the Napier-based winery.
As people get ready to head away, knowledge is power. Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is encouraging people to make use of its Journey Planner to plan ahead to avoid traffic delays and have a safer, more enjoyable journey.
Waka Kotahi Journey Manager for Hawke’s Bay, Andre Taylor says despite the devastation caused by Cyclone Gabrielle in February, the region is open.
“Roading crews have become familiar sights to people in the region over recent months, as access is restored and strengthened on the network.
“While more sites have been repaired, there is still traffic management in some places, especially on SH2 between Napier and Wairoa.
“It’s really important that while travelling around, people remember to drive to the conditions, and be aware of possible delays, temporary traffic management, and lower speeds in some places.
“Please be patient, give yourself extra travel time and take regular breaks on long journeys,” says Mr Taylor.
Have Eyes on the Highway and wait for the Greenlight to enjoy a safe, stress-free journey.
