Melbourne Storm superstar Josh Addo-Carr has become the first player in 71 years to score six tries in a game, as his side belted the Rabbitohs on Thursday night.

The NSW Origin and Kangaroos flyer scored four tries in the first half, and capped it off with another two in the second stanza as Storm ran out 50-0 victors at Stadium Australia.

Justin Olam had a hand in quite a few of them, with the centre icing plenty of opportunities for his outside man as he became the first man since Jack Troy in 1950 to score six tries in a single game of first grade.

Congratulations to the @Storm’s Josh Addo-Carr who has become the first person since former Newtown winger Jack Troy in 1950 to score six tries in a first grade match. #WeAre8972

Addo-Carr also went to equal fifth in the all-time tryscoring list for the Storm.

As for the Rabbitohs, they will now have to overcome some history of their own - no side has ever won the competition when conceding 50 points in a game during the regular season.

It was also the first time since 2016 that South Sydney had been held scoreless in a game.
