This is even more stunning than what Shami managed two overs ago! Pandya pitches one up Conway hits it back towards the bowler. The ball is quite low going off the bat but it is in the air, Pandya reaches down with his left hand in his follow-through and plucks it. Hardly any celebration from him and so it takes a couple of seconds for the stadium to understand a wicket has fallen. New Zealand are stuck in a hole and being picked apart quite easily.

The captain Tom Latham is out and he has Devon Conway at the other end. This has been a real grind for the Kiwis and they are probably just waiting for the moment when one of Shami or Siraj is taken off the attack. They are 10/3 after 7 overs.

Raipur is the 50th venue to host an ODI in India. Huge boundaries on all sides so it won't exactly be raining sixes today. Grand Elliot an Murali Karthik said in the pitch report that the surface has an even covering of grass and there are some cracks on it. It's hard, there is some bounce on offer and should help the pacers. Dew could be a factor. An excellent batting surface overall.

“I forgot what we wanted to do, had plenty of discussions with the team about the toss decision, just wanted to challenge ourselves under difficult conditions, but we'll bowl first. Was a good test for us, knowing that the wicket will get better to bat on and that was the challenge in front of us. Bracewell batted well, but we bowled well in the end and won the game. There was a bit of dew during the practice sessions, but we've heard from the curator that it will not play a role on game days. After winning the toss, openers got India off to a good start, with Rohit and Gill scoring a 6-run stand before the youngster single-handedly carried the team with his double century which helped the hosts set a 350-run target. The bowlers sent reduced New Zealand to 131 for 6 before Bracewell shattered their plans and threatened to pull off a masterclass of a chase with his 140-run knock. He was eventually stopped in the final over with an impressive yorker from Shardul as India won by 12 runs.
