Covid19 Ten new locations of interest across North Island
The new locations of interest are in Wellington, Auckland, Tauranga, Te Awautu and Dannevirke.

A snooker and pool bar in Auckland is amongst 10 new locations of interest across the North Island in New Zealand’s community Covid-19 outbreak, flagged as a location with potential close contacts.

Other locations listed were in Wellington, Tauranga, Te Awamutu and Dannevirke.

Anyone who visited Shooters Snooker & Pool Manukau at 57C Cavendish Drive, Manukau, on Christmas Eve between 12pm and 5pm were asked to self-isolate and test for Covid-19 immediately, as well as on day five after being exposed to the location.

Mount Maunganui’s Returned and Services’ Association (RSA) was the only other location flagged as a location with potential close contacts, which was re-listed earlier on Thursday.

Anyone who visited the RSA at 544 Maunganui Rd on December 20 between 11.15am and 4pm were considered close contacts and were asked to self-isolate and test for Covid-19 immediately.

The RSA was previously listed on the Ministry of Health’s website on Boxing Day at 6pm for four separate exposure events.

Two of the events were still active locations of interest. Anyone who visited the RSA on December 22 between 11.30am and 6pm, and on Christmas Eve between 1.48 and 4pm, were still considered a close contact and should isolate and get tested immediately.

In Wellington, Atrium Towers Apartment on The Terrace and Rydges Pipitea on Featherston St were listed by the Ministry of Health as new locations of interest on Thursday evening.

Anyone who visited the apartment building on December 23 between 8.13am and 8.20am and the Rydges hotel on the same day between 8.25am and 9.45am were asked to self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days.

In Tauranga, Paper Plus Bethlehem, Unichem Metro Pharmacy Bethlehem, Pero's Hairtek Bayfair Mount Maunganui and Downtown Pharmacy Mount Maunganui were added to the list.

Robertsons Menswear Mount Maunganui was further added to the list and anyone who visited the location on Christmas Eve between 10.29am and 11.55am were asked to self-monitor for symptoms.

Those who visited Paper Plus on December 23 between 8.47am and 10.15am; Unichem on Christmas Eve between 3.03pm and 4.30pm; Pero’s Hairtek Bayfair on Christmas Eve between 11.24am and 12.41pm; and Downtown Pharmacy also on Christmas Eve between 10.38am and 11.55am were asked to self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days.

Additionally, anyone who visited Columbus Coffee at Mitre 10 MEGA Te Awamutu, south of Hamilton on December 23 between 2.10pm and 3.10pm, and Caltex Westlow Dannevirke on the same day between 12.24pm and 1.45pm, were asked to follow the same advice.

Earlier on Thursday afternoon, a Top 10 Holiday Park in Ōhope, south of Tauranga, was listed as a new location of interest.

Anyone who visited the park at 367 Harbour Road, Ōhope, on December 24 between 5.35pm and 7.10pm, was asked to self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days.

Nightclubs in Auckland CBD are getting ready for the Orange level masses that will arrive for New Years celebration.

On Thursday morning, three Northland businesses; the Omapere Foodmart, GAS Omapere Fuel 25/7, and Four Square Waimamaku, were added to the list.

Anyone who visited Omapere Foodmart on December 22 between 11.30am and 12.30pm, December 23 between 11am and 12.30pm, or on December 24 between 12.30pm and 1.30pm, were also asked to self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days.

GAS Omapere Fuel 24/7 also had multiple dates flagged, including December 24 between 11.45am and 12.45pm, and Christmas Day between 12 and 1pm.

Four Square Waimamaku was a location of interest on December 24, between 12 and 1pm.

Fifteen locations of interest were announced on Wednesday across the country, including six linked to the country’s first case of the Omicron variant, who was active in the community.

UK-based DJ Dimension, in the country to play at the Rhythm and Alps music festival, confirmed on social media he was the person who tested positive for Omicron.

The Impala Nightclub in Auckland’s central business district was added as a close contact location.

Anyone who visited between 11pm on December 26 and 3am the following morning was instructed to self-isolate and get tested for Covid-19 immediately – and again five days after visiting the location of interest.

They were also asked to record their visit online or call Healthline so contact tracers can get in touch.

People who visited Sunny Town restaurant between 2.30 and 2.30pm, Commercial Bay Precinct betwen 2.30pm and 4.30pm, and 6.30pm and 8pm, Partridge Jewellers between 3.30 and 6pm, Ahi Restaurant between 6.30 and 8pm, and Soul Bar between 9.30pm on December 26 until 3am the following morning may also be casual contacts.

In a release, the Ministry said staff would reach out to a few close contacts from Soul Bar.

Four Christchurch businesses have also been added to the locations of interest list, all visited on December 26.

They include BP Fendalton between 2.45 and 2.55pm, Mitre 10 MEGA Papanui between 5.55 and 6.25pm, Pak'n Save Riccarton Mall between 12.55 and 1.20pm, and Nood at Tower Junction, between 11.45 and 12.05pm.

A Rotorua campground and a Mount Maunganui swimming pool were added earlier on Wednesday.

The Baywave TECT Aquatic & Leisure Centre, in Mt Maunganui’s Bayfair, between 2pm and 4.30pm on December 17, was added to the Ministry of Health website at 2pm.

Boyes Beach Reserve, at Lake Okareka in Rotorua, between 10am and 2pm on December 17, was added earlier in the day.

Anyone who visited any of those sites was asked to self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days after being exposed.

If symptoms developed, they should get a test and stay at home until receiving a negative test result.

If you were at a location of interest at one of the specified times, you may need to self-isolate and be tested. Follow the instructions for that location on the Ministry of Health website and call Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for advice on testing.
