Lizzo says 'I quit,' after continuously being dragged online and the 'butt of every joke'

(Gray News) - Lizzo posted a cryptic message on Instagram causing many people to believe she’s done with music.

The 35-year-old superstar shared a statement expressing that she’s “getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet.”

The “Truth Hurts” singer continued saying that all she wants to do is make music and make people happy, but she’s starting to feel the world doesn’t want her in it.

“I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views ... being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look,” she said.

She ended her message by saying, “I didn’t sign up for this s--t — I QUIT.”

The singer didn’t reveal what caused her to share this with her 12.1 million Instagram followers, but her comment section was filled with encouraging messages from her peers.

Paris Hilton wrote, ‘We love you Queen.”

Latto commented, “The ppl need u Lizzo. I remember U made me keep going when I wanted to quit before. Ur soul is SO pure. TEAM LIZZO 4L.”

According to PEOPLE, the post was shared nearly two months after Lizzo attempted to dismiss a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by three of her former background dancers.
