Liverpool 3-1 Leicester City highlights and reaction
Hello and welcome to our live coverage for Leicester City's Carabao Cup third round tie at Liverpool on Wednesday night.
It's the toughest competitive test of Enzo Maresca's reign so far and while victory over a Premier League heavyweight is not expected, hopes of an upset don't feel too far-fetched. Returning from the international break with a run of three straight wins to make it nine victories from 10 under their new manager, it's all going swimmingly at City.
But everything is going well for Liverpool too. Since drawing with Chelsea on the opening day, they have won six matches in a row in all competitions. Their schedule is as hectic as City's and with a big game against Tottenham to come on Saturday, there is potential that they rest key players.
Maresca has confirmed he will be doing the same. He made five changes to his side last Wednesday at Norwich, and a similar number are expected at Anfield. Conor Coady is likely to be one of those coming into the side, the summer signing finally able to make his debut following his foot fracture in pre-season.
Hamza Choudhury, fresh from signing a new contract, as well as James Justin, Cesare Casadei, Yunus Akgun, Kasey McAteer, and Kelechi Iheanacho are among the others who may fancy their chances of coming into the team. We'll find out Maresca's line-up at 6.45pm.
And then it's onto the game, with live updates and analysis from Anfield on our blog below. Kick-off is at 7.45pm.
