Westminster Abbey holds a special place in Prince William and Kate Middleton’s hearts since the royal church was the spot where the couple said “I do” on April 29, 2011. During the Commonwealth Day service on March 13, 2023, the Prince and Princess of Wales revisited their wedding venue and made another precious memory at the site. While sitting in the congregation, Kate leaned in to tell William something. Her husband moved forward to hear what his wife had to say, and he gave Kate a look that’s going viral on TikTok. 

TikTok account royal_secrets24 posted a five-second clip of the interaction that captured William’s facial expression. “The Look of Love,” the caption says. The video has already racked up 288,800 views since it was posted less than 24 hours ago. It’s also garnered 10,600 likes and 344 comments. Many other TikTok users agreed that William’s face confirms his love for his wife. One person commented, “Their looks say more than a million words. Complicity, love and tenderness; that's what William & Catherine are.” Another account said, “They really are an amazing couple. So in tune with each other. So natural.”

The sweet exchange between the pair took place during their first Commonwealth Day as the Prince and Princess of Wales—the duo formerly held the titles the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. For the ceremony, Kate wore a navy blazer and skirt featuring a floral print. Her attire also honored the royal family. She donned a pair of sapphire and diamond earrings that Princess Diana previously wore, and she also sported the Prince of Wales feathers brooch, which was a gift from King Charles III. Kate completed her look with a blue fascinator. William opted for a classic look in a navy suit with a blue tie.

This was also Charles’ first Commonwealth Day service since becoming the British monarch in September of 2022 after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died. During his speech to mark the occasion, the king honored the former queen. “In succeeding her majesty as head of the Commonwealth, I draw great strength from her example, together with all that I have learnt from the extraordinary people I have met, throughout the Commonwealth over so many years,” he said to the crowd. 

The sovereign also discussed his hopes for the future of the Commonwealth, which currently rules one-third of the world’s population and includes 56 independent and equal countries in Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the Pacific. The head of Britain cited “peace and justice, tolerance, respect and solidarity, care for our environment and for the most vulnerable around us” as some of these goals. “These are not simply ideals,” he remarked. “In each lies an imperative to act, and to make a practical difference in the lives of the 2.6 billion people who call the Commonwealth home.” Charles also encouraged collaborating countries to contribute to a better future. "The Commonwealth has an incredible opportunity and responsibility to create a genuinely durable future, one that offers the kind of prosperity that is in harmony with nature and that will also secure our unique and only planet for generations to come," he expressed. "Let ours be a Commonwealth that not only stands together, but strives together, in restless and practical pursuit of the global common good."
