Anchorage Hanukkah celebration to feature food, festivities and high ...
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The Alaska Jewish Campus is celebrating the festival of lights with an “extreme trampoline show” on Sunday that will be part of an event also featuring food, arts and crafts, inflatables, music, and more.
This year’s “Cirque Du Chanukah” will also include different activity stations and the lighting of an ice menorah.
“Over a thousand people are attending, just one big party, a huge party, the biggest Jewish event in Alaska of the year,” said Rabbi Yosef Greenberg of the Lubavitch Jewish Center of Alaska. “And everyone is welcome to come, because Hanukkah has such an important message of freedom of religion, freedom of worship and respect to all diversity.
“And the most important message I would say is the victory of light,” Greenberg said, “and light over darkness.”
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Egan Center, located at 555 W. 5th Ave. in Anchorage.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $13 for kids at the door, or you can purchase in advance for $17 for adults and $10 for children.
