HOLLYWOOD star Gene Hackman has been spotted for the first time in two years as he stepped out to grab a coffee
The Oscar winner, 93, is known for movies Mississippi Burning, Superman, and The French Connection.
Yet he has lived a reclusive lifestyle since his retirement in 2008, moving to reside in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with wife Betsy Arakawa.
Now the iconic actor has been spotted grabbing snacks and a take-out coffee from a petrol station.
Gene was seen in a green baseball cap as he covered up from the sunshine, wearing jeans, a long-sleeve top and a fleece gilet.
After striding out of the shop with a pair of sunglasses perched on his head he made his way to his car.
He was spotted in the drivers seat of the white motor, wheeling the window down as he approached the exit to the car park.
He has kept a relatively low profile since he officially revealed he was retiring from acting in 2008.
The award-winning star attributed his retirement to his doctor's advice regarding his heart's condition.
He told EMPIRE: "The straw that broke the camel’s back was actually a stress test that I took in New York.

"When I’m actually on the set or on a stage, actually doing the work, I loved that process and I loved the creative process of trying to bring a character to life."
After years of landing bit parts in the late 1950s into the 1960s, Gene went on to achieve his career breakthrough in the latter part of the decade.

Over the course of his career, the Academy has nominated him a total of five times.
He was recognised by the organisation for his performances in Bonnie and Clyde, I Never Sang For My Father, and Mississippi Burning.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Gene has an estimated fortune of $80million.
