Christmas mix-up after fiancée 'gifted' Dyson handryer by partner

Despite our best efforts, Christmas presents can occasionally just suck – pure and simple.

Finding the perfect gift for that special someone can be a daunting task. If the Christmas wish list was a bit vague, there’s always room for error.

This was the case for photographer Angus Duncan – in a festive wind-up on Twitter – who said he’d faced some difficulty after buying the ‘wrong’ Dyson product for his fiancée this year.

He took to the site to ponder the totally unexpected reaction.

‘Apparently I got my fiancée the wrong Dyson Air-thingy?’, Angus jokingly wrote.

He then attached a photo of a Dyson Air Blade handryer with his other half’s apparent reaction, which read: ‘WHY DID YOU GET ME A HANDRYER’.

Her message was complete with no less than eight exclamation marks.

When contacted by Metro.co.uk, Angus replied: ‘This is worse than the time I accidentally sent my Santa letter to Satan.’

His tongue-in-cheek Tweet soon garnered a whole host of replies as the puns rolled in.

‘Don’t worry it’ll all blow over’, Clappers2020 advised Angus on Twitter.

In reply, ChimeWhistle wrote: ‘Some people are just so ungrateful.’

Some suggested that an airfryer may have been the gift the fiancée had hoped for.

Dyson airfryers have been at the top of many a Christmas list this year. They save money compared to a conventional oven and often save space in shared kitchens.

As Metro reporter Alice Giddings found out, it’s even possible to cook an entire Christmas dinner in one.

Better luck next year Angus, perhaps you can find an airfryer in the Boxing Day sales…
