Poll: Who wins from here?Ten runs left for Australia

Markram continues. Cummins chips him toward mid-wicket but it falls just short of David Miller diving for the catch. A wide and a single from the over. Coetzee returns for another over.

Australia 7-203: Starc 11*, Cummins 7* need 10 runs to win from 42 balls.

Less than 20 runs needed as Cummins breaks his bat

Aiden Markram back into the attack. Not as much turn as he had at the start of the innings but cries of catch for a caught and bowl - from a bump ball - get the pulse racing. Australia eek out another two singles from him as Coetzee continues, good short ball at Pat Cummins.

Cummins’ bat comes a cropper out of that ball, it’s been cracked and he wants a replacement. Coetzee meanwhile gets some running repairs on a calf issue.

When Coetzee returns to the bowling crease it’s with a wide half-volley, misses the yorker length and Cummins slashes it for four through backward point.

Coetzee slips with a full ball and it’s a no-ball for being over waist-height. Free hit for Mitchell Starc now. Bowls him! But it’s a free hit of course, so Starc remains.

Australia 7-201: Starc 11*, Cummins 6* need 12 runs to win from 48 balls.

Wicket: Coetzee yorks Inglis

Bowled him! Gerald Coetzee delivers again for South Africa. He sneaks a fast, full yorker past Josh Inglis’s bat and now there’s just the tail to go. All happening.

Great innings from Inglis, he looked as accomplished as anyone at the crease since Travis Head. But only the bowlers now.

First ball, Pat Cummins is struck on the pads and given not-out. Coetzee was adamant he was LBW and has convinced South Africa to review but that’s pitching outside leg stump. South Africa’s last review is burned, and horribly so - that’s a shocking decision but the Proteas are well and truly alive now.

Cummins knows his way around a tense run chase though.

Australia 7-193: Starc 10*, Cummins 0* need 20 runs to win from 60 balls.

Australia see off spin danger from South African stars

Big win for Australia, Starc and Inglis see off the last two overs from Tabraiz Shamsi without too much issue. In between Inglis hammers four through cover from Coetzee.

Just six balls of frontline spin left from Keshav Maharaj, with that runs required figure under 30 now. Coetzee continues and Starc is squared up by a good ball, edging right through first slip. It races away and beats third man to the boundary.

Last ball of the over Starc’s defensive prod flies toward where a short mid-wicket might be, Coetzee desperately dives for it but is six inches away. Keshav Maharaj now bowling his last over and again Starc handles him reasonably smoothly. That might be the clincher for Australia.

Australia 6-190: Inglis 28*, Starc 7* need 23 runs to win from 66 balls.

Wicket: Smith falls with wild slog

And then out of nowhere, Smith swipes at a low ball outside off stump, swinging for cow corner. He’s only managed to send the ball 30-off metres straight up in the air, abusing himself before it even starts coming down.

Quinton de Kock comes up from keeper and hangs onto the catch, South Africa are still alive just when the chase looked to be getting away from them.

Gerald Coetzee fist pumping and now running in to Mitchell Starc. The Proteas spinners now, they’ll be licking their lips, but they only have three overs left between Shamsi and Maharaj. And Shamsi comes back into the attack. Two slips to Starc.

Starc sees out the over without too much issue. Big win for Australia there.

Australia 6-177: Inglis 20*, Starc 2* need 36 runs to win from 90 balls

Less than 40 runs needed for Australia

Kagiso Rabada up now after a Steve Smith edge straight through the vacant first slip region takes seven runs off another Coetzee over. Australia handling the seamers comfortably, it’s got to be spin for South Africa now with the target slowly being whittled away.

Coetzee getting another over is a surprise. No point saving your spinners if they’ve only got 10 runs to defend. He starts with a bouncer, Smith is unfazed.

Australia 5-174: Smith 30*, Inglis 19*, need 39 runs to win from 27 overs

Inglis delivers crucial runs as pace returns

Gerald Coetzee into the attack. Big call by South Africa and Bavuma, he’s been in good form, but this is just the start of his international career. Went for 15 from his first over. Smith and Inglis did look as comfortable as anyone out there against the spinners. And Inglis averages 27 against spin and 15 against pace since the last World Cup.

Good fielding on the boundary from Marco Jansen denies Steve Smith a hooked boundary. Inglis doubles down though with a lovely late cut past first slip, fine enough to beat third man to the rope. Crucial runs.

Australia 5-162: Smith 22*, Inglis 16*, need 51 runs to win from 20 overs

Stats: The six crucial overs for Australia to survive

Six overs left between South Africa’s frontline spinners Maharaj and Shamsi. If Smith and Inglis can survive this period, Australia keep their advantage, though Markram was getting impressive turn. Serious tension here.

Imagine Temba Bavuma has to go for broke and keep bowling Shamsi and Maharaj with less than 60 runs needed - a fine boundary just now from Josh Inglis, jumping onto the back foot and punching Shamsi to the cover boundary.

Wicket: Maxwell falls after South Africa lose review

Glenn Maxwell let’s fly with a wild reverse sweep against Maharaj and Quinton de Kock goes up for a caught behind like it’s a fait accompli. The umpire gives South Africa nothing and replays show that’s the right call - no bat or glove on the ball.

The Proteas lose a review there. Big call. But it doesn’t matter a few balls later.

Maxwell throws the kitchen sink at a short ball from Shamsi that shoots low. Bowled all ends up. Horrid hack that wasn’t on. South Africa now in charge with their spinners dominating and Josh Inglis to the crease.

Australia 5-137: Smith 14*, Maxwell 1, need 73 runs to win from 26 overs

Wicket: Labuschagne’s reverse sweep comes unstuck

Marnus Labuschagne knows he’s in trouble again after going down to reverse sweep a ball from Shamsi. Hit on the pad and hitting in line after missing another sharply spinning ball, Labuschagne was given and challenged the umpire’s call.

It’s tight again but this time DRS - it’s umpire’s call again - favours South Africa and Marnus is on his way after picking off some runs from Maharaj. Tension mounting with Glenn Maxwell to the crease, Steve Smith trying to anchor the other end with the ball spinning square.

First ball produces a big appeal for caught behind against Maxwell but little interest from the umpire.

Australia 3-134: Smith 14*, Maxwell 0*, need 79 runs to win from 27 overs
