Veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez dies at 76

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 17) – Veteran actor Ronald James Dulaca Gibbs, best known by his screen name “Ronaldo Valdez,” died on Sunday, his son Janno Gibbs confirmed. He was 76 years old.
“It is with great sorrow that I confirm my father’s passing. The family would like to request that you respect our privacy in our grieving moment,” Janno posted on Instagram on Monday.
The cause of his death was not disclosed and the initial confirmation came from the Quezon City Police District.
Valdez's acting career spanned nearly six decades.
His last project was the romantic drama series “2 Good 2 Be True” where he starred alongside former love team and real-life couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. He portrayed the character “Lolo Sir.”
He is survived by his wife, Maria Fe Ilagan Gibbs, and his two children, celebrities Janno and Melissa Gibbs.
