Fan Creates Real Life Miniature Minecraft Blocks Game Rant
In a move that shows how Minecraft can infiltrate reality, a fan creates real life mini versions of the game's blocks using epoxy resin.

One of the best things about Minecraft is getting to see all the amazing things that fans create in the sandbox world. From the fan who made a working Tetris game using redstone, to the user who inexplicably was able to build a world that looked almost realistic, Mojang's hugely successful IP is a seemingly endless source of creativity. While the majority of fan creations are built within the game itself, it's also possible for Minecraft to have influence in the real world as well.

Posting a couple of short clips to Reddit recently, user whathowyy has managed to bring elements of Minecraft to life using epoxy resin. Essentially, what they've done is created miniature versions of a couple of the game's blocks, with impressive detail. Specifically, the user has managed to make a grass block, using actual mud and grass, and a glass block, using water and the aforementioned epoxy. There was a little bit of ribbing in the comments when it turned out the user had got a little mixed up and made the grass block when the original request had asked for a glass block.

While the grass block is simply a square bit of dirt that's been trimmed to look like the real deal, the glass block seemed a little more complicated. When asked in the comments how it was achieved, whathowyy replied saying they painted the inside of the mold to give it the Minecraft glass block look, then poured polyurethane and waited for it to set.

While it's possible to mod Minecraft to make it an entirely different game, the fact that whathowyy has taken recognizable elements from the game and recreated them in real life, shows that, not only does the user have a degree of talent, particularly with regard to the glass block, but that the game has had such an impact that some fans are willing to bring assets to life.

Minecraft is one of the most popular casual open world games, and with it comes a community that is both creative and imaginative. The blocks whathowyy created may be small, but it's interesting to see the ways in which people are showing their appreciation for the game. Even the movie world has shown its love of the game, as Ryan Reynolds gets transformed into a blocky avatar as part of the marketing campaign for the movie Free Guy. Minecraft is a juggernaut of a game, and it doesn't seem to be showing any signs of slowing down any time soon, especially when fans keep being creative and showcasing their work.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
