IPL 2023 Final, GT vs CSK: Report | Highlights

After GT lost in Qualifier 1, the 21-year-old was roped back in for the crucial tie against MI in Qualifier two and scored 43. However, it was in the final that Sudharsan came to the fore with the bat.

After the Titans lost Gill, the Tamil Nadu batter came in and was slow off the blocks at first. once he found his rhythm, Sudharsan would end up scoring 96 off 47 deliveries to help GT post a big total of 214.

However, CSK would end up winning the match by five wickets via the DLS method to win the IPL 2023 title.

Speaking at the press conference, Sudharsan said that he was happy with his performance but was a bit sad with the result of the game.

"Definitely, very happy and grateful to be able to contribute to the team. Seriously, I'm very happy and a little bit sad also. The result was not in our side,' said Sudharsan.

The 21-year-old said in the previous game he felt a lot of pressure but came to the realization that being calm was the way to go.

"Last game, I felt a lot of pressure, and came to a realization that being more calmer is much better and I have the ability to do it. I felt a bit more calmer this game," said Sudharsan.

Sudharsan said that he is learning a lot from Shubman Gill and said once the GT opener was dismissed, he was looking to take the game deeper and take the right chances.

"Shubman is playing at his best and I'm learning a lot from him to be honest. Regarding this game, when Shubman got out, it was more of taking the game a little more deeper and even having a check on the scoreboard as well. I was trying to take the right chances and take the game deep as well," said Sudharsan.
