Auckland home invasion leaves one dead, others injured

A homicide investigation has been launched after a man was shot and killed in Auckland on Thursday night.

Police were notified of an incident at an address on Glass Rd, Mt Roskill, at about 9:30pm. 

"Two armed offenders have entered the address and an altercation has taken place with the occupants inside the house," said Det Insp Scott Beard.

"One of the occupants, a man in his 20s, received a gunshot wound and has died at the scene. Two other people at the address have received non-life threatening injuries and were transported to hospital."

Beard said the offenders fled from the scene and are yet to be found.

Police are examining the scene on Friday.
