‘Flash’ star Ezra Miller faces 26 years if convicted for Vermont burglary
The lead actor in DC Comics’ upcoming 2023 summer superhero blockbuster, “The Flash,” faces a maximum of 26 years in prison if convicted for an incident in which they’re accused of breaking into a Vermont residence and stealing bottles of alcohol — one of many legal accusations attached to the superhero movie star.
Ezra Miller, “Flash” actor, was arraigned and plead not guilty to a misdemeanor felony burglary and petit larceny in Bennington court on Monday, according to the Associated Press.
The court imposed conditions on the 30-year-old actor after the arraignment, they are to have no contact with the Vermont homeowner or go to the residence where the robbery occurred. Miller and their attorney agreed to the terms.
If convicted, Miller faces a maximum of 26 years in prison. They’re due back in court on Jan.13.
“Ezra would like to acknowledge the love and support they have received from their family and friends, who continue to be a vital presence in their ongoing mental health,” Miller’s lawyer Lisa Shelkrot said in an email sent to AP reporters.

On May 1, Vermont State Police responded to a burglary complaint in Stamford, according to AP. Authorities said they found that several bottles of alcohol had been taken from a residence while the homeowner was away.
The homeowner told police he and Miller have been friends for about 18 years and bought the home a year and a half ago in the same town where Miller had also purchased a home, according to the police affidavit.
Miller was charged after police searched surveillance footage and interviewed witnesses.
The DC superhero movie actor has several other legal issues, including accusations of them behaving inappropriately with children in Massachusetts and North Dakota.

Greenfield District Court granted an unnamed Western Massachusetts mother a temporary order of protection on behalf of her 12-year-old child against Miller. The child’s mother became concerned about Miller’s relationship with her daughter, according to a report in The Daily Beast.
The Western Massachusetts mother told The Daily Beast that Miller first seemed friendly. However, she soon grew suspicious of Miller’s relationship with her child, describing Miller’s conduct as both menacing and inappropriate at times.
In February, Miller, who lives around 40 miles away on a ranch in Stamford, Vermont, visited a neighbor’s home in Greenfield and had a verbal argument with the child’s mother and the neighbor, the neighbor said to The Daily Beast.
The neighbor told reporters that the actor was wearing a bulletproof vest and had a gun at the time of the altercation.
The Daily Beast reported that Miller argued with the child’s mother about her parenting and guidance. Both the neighbor and child’s mother told reporters that they believed Miller to be intoxicated due to having dilated pupils and erratic behavior.
The Greenfield court issued the temporary protection order without advance notice on Wednesday “because the court determined that there is a substantial likelihood of immediate danger of harassment,” NBC News said court documents stated.
The Massachusetts protective order is the second that was issued against Miller.
The first was issued in North Dakota, after the parents of 18-year-old Native American activist Tokata Iron Eyes — who met Miller when Iron Eyes was 12 and Miller was 23 — were granted a protective order against the actor on June 7, alleging the actor is “psychologically manipulating, physically intimidating and endangering the safety and welfare” of their child, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The L.A. Times reported the two have interacted several times over the past six years, including an instance where Iron Eyes’ parents allowed them to fly to London with Miller for the “Fantastic Beasts” premiere in 2017. During this event, Miller allegedly tried to share a bed with 14-year-old Iron Eyes before being stopped by a chaperone.
Iron Eyes’ parents have been working to get them to stop associating with Miller so their child can be “their beautiful independent self,” IGN reported. Iron Eyes has been spotted with Miller multiple times, including during a few of the actor’s altercations in Hawaii.
“Ezra uses violence, intimidation, threat of violence, fear, paranoia, delusions, and drugs to hold sway over a young adolescent Tokata,” a court filing obtained by TMZ read. Iron Eyes’ parents allege that Miller supplied their underage daughter with alcohol, marijuana and LSD.
Miller was arrested twice in Hawaii this year and charged with disorderly conduct.
In March, Miller was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and harassment after they allegedly yelled obscenities, grabbed a microphone from a singing woman and lunged at a man playing darts at a bar in Hawaii, according to the Associated Press. Although the bar owner asked Miller several times to “calm down,” the police said, those efforts were “to no avail.” Miller was allegedly aggravated by the song “Shallow” by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.
In April, Miller was arrested and charged with assault after they allegedly threw a chair that struck a 26-year-old woman and left a half-inch gash, according to the New York Times.
Miller reportedly threw the chair after becoming irate after being asked to leave a get-together at a Hawaii home, according to a news release from the Hawaii Police Department.
Police arrested Miller. He was later released on the assault charge “pending further investigation,” according to the New York Times.
The allegations against Miller come almost a year before Warner Brothers is slated to release “The Flash,” a $100 million film that is part of the studio’s DC Comics franchise.
Amid Miller’s legal issues, Warner Brothers has delayed the film’s release to June 23, 2023, citing production delays brought on by COVID-19, according to Variety.
There have been multiple calls on social media for Warner Brothers to recast Miller. However, reports have shown that the embattled actor returned to “The Flash” set for filming in October.
