IND vs NZ: Daryl Mitchell hits 2nd hundred against India in World ...
New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell, on Wednesday, November 15, scored a masterful hundred in the semi-final of World Cup 2023 against India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
India vs New Zealand scorecard
Mitchell’s hundred came after the Black Caps found themselves in trouble with their score at 39 for two in 7.4 overs. In the league stage of the mega event, Mitchell racked up a century against the Men in Blue at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala.
Mitchell looked at ease in the semi-final despite the Kiwis being asked to chase down a mammoth target of 398 in 50 overs. The right-handed batter got to his half-century off 49 balls. Although he did not start accelerating, Mitchell looked threatening with the bat in hand.
Mitchell got an efficient partner in skipper Kane Williamson, who looked calm and composed as ever. The duo brought up their century partnership off 87 balls.
The pair kept going for their shots and brought up their 150-run stand in 23.2 overs. During this while, Mitchell started pulling shots out of his sleeves, putting pressure on the Indian bowlers to a large extent.
