Pakistan’s record in Dunedin
The Black Caps are 2-0 in Twenty20 encounters at the University Oval. They beat Australia by four runs in 2021 thanks to 97 from 50 balls by Martin Guptill while Mitchell Santner’s 4-31 halted Australia’s chase. Last year, the Black Caps cruised to a nine-wicket win over Sri Lanka, chasing down the tourists’ 141 in 14.4 overs with Tim Seifert making 79.
Pakistan have never played a T20 in Dunedin and their only ODI match at University Oval in 2018 was a defeat by 183 runs. They also lost a test at the ground in 2009.
Pakistan last won a game in Dunedin way back in 1995 at Carisbrook - defending 189 from their 50 overs after dismissing the Black Caps, led by Lee Germon, for 169.
